We've compiled a list of our residents most frequently asked questions and answers concerning living in Chateaux DiJon. However, if you have a question that is not on this list, please feel free to contact us at any time, and we'll do our best to respond to you as soon as possible.

What are the resident rules/policies of Chateaux DiJon?

Chateaux DiJon has a strict, written policy of rules for residents and guests of the property. This packet, called "Chateaux DiJon Community Policies," was provided to you when you signed your lease. If you would like another copy, please stop by the office as we would be happy to assist you.

When is rent due?

Rent is due by the 3rd day of each month. Rent is delinquent by 8am on the 4th day of the month. After this time, late fees will apply per your lease agreement.

Sometimes I am not able to come into the office during weekday business hours because I work late. Are you open on Saturdays?

We are currently open by appointment only on Saturdays.

I have a friend who would be interested in renting an apartment. Who should I direct my friend to?

Please have your friend review our website, particularly the LEASING section, to provide preliminary information they may need. Our Rental Application is also available for download from the website. Your friend may bring this form to the office with the appropriate documents to discuss their leasing interest with our Leasing Consultant.

What should I do if the gates are not working?

If the gates are not working during business hours, please call the office. If the gate is not operational after hours, please call the office number, 504-837-0305, to reach the answering service; do not leave a voicemail. The service will call Maintenance immediately to send someone to open the gate.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience the gates may cause. Electric gates such as these are sensitive and service can sometimes be disrupted. Remember, that you may always try the other entrance gate for entry (on Esplanade or 6th Street) or use the walk-through gates using your apartment door key.

What should I do if I have a problem with my apartment but it is considered "non-emergency" in the Community Policies?

We understand that some circumstances that we consider "non-emergency" you may consider more of an emergency. For instance, if one toilet is stopped up but there is another working toilet in the apartment, this is not considered an after-hours/weekend emergency. At all apartment communities, maintenance staff is minimal after 5pm on weekdays and on the weekends. If however, there is a circumstance that you still deem extremely important or worrisome, please leave a message with the after-hours answering service for the manager; we will do whatever we can to respond to your needs promptly.

What do you suggest we do in the case of a hurricane during the summer/fall season?

We have a specific, written policy regarding what staff and residents are to do in the case of this type of emergency. The policy is distributed each summer; it is also posted in full under RESIDENTS, EMERGENCY INFO. If you would like another copy, please let the office know. We would be happy to assist you.

I am not sure how to use my washer-dryer?

We have copies of the washer-dryer manuals in the office. We also have a "cheat sheet" with tips on how to complete the basic tasks. Please call the office for a copy.

What if I hear unusual noises, loud music or voices late at night or in the early morning?

Please notify the after-hours service so that our on-site Courtesy Patrol can look into any issues of which you may have concern.

What if I have an issue or concern that I am not comfortable speaking with the office staff about or have not been able to resolve?

The owners have set up an email address for you to voice thoughts and concerns directly with them regarding your stay at Chateaux DiJon: They check this email periodically. If you have more immediate concerns, please speak with the office.
